A forestry workers’ village located at Sokgol-ri in Samsu County of the DPRK is called as the highest village under the sky as it is uninhabited and of high altitude.
Decades ago, a branch school was built here.
In those days a few children in the village used to go on foot dozens of ris to school since there was not any school nearby. Under this situation, a branch school was built for forestry workers’ children and two teachers were also sent here by national measures.
Currently there are eighteen pupils and seven teachers in the branch school.
If anyone knows this fact, he or she will be thankful to the Workers’ Party of Korea who spares nothing for future generation.
