Recorded in the history of the career of Chairman Kim Jong Il, who devoted his all for the prosperity of his country, is an earnest request he had made to officials.
One December day in Juche 87 (1998) he sat together with some officials, and gave them instructions that they should find their pleasure in doing something good for the people.
He said that he felt relieved of his fatigue and refreshed when he was told that the people had come to be well-off though he was working foregoing meals and without having an adequate sleep.
A moment later, he earnestly requested them in the following vein: I find my pleasure and happiness in the people’s delight and happiness. Our officials should make painstaking efforts together with me for their sake by understanding my intention.
