It was September 9 Juche 71 (1982). On the significant founding day of the Republic, the anti-Japanese veteran fighters and officials were met by Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Tenderly looking at the fighters who had long been loyal to President Kim Il Sung, the Chairman told them that it was the day when we had the head of state for the first time in the history of our nation, when we had the President as the head of state.
That day the Chairman emphasized that we should work well to adhere to the exploits of the President and inherit the tradition.
The founding day of the Republic was truly the day of great jubilation when we had the President as the first head of state of the country and the praiseworthy course of the Republic was precisely the noble lifetime of the President.
