The flag of the DPRK is a blue and red national flag.
The national flag was formally enacted at the Fifth Session of the People`s Assembly of North Korea in July Juche 37(1948) and a ceremony of hoisting the newly enacted national flag was solemnly held in front of the Moranbong Theatre in Pyongyang with the representatives of all political parties and social organizations and a large number of citizens in attendance.
