On November 24, 1996, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Panmunjom.
That day the Chairman said that the most important slogan in the People’s Army was whether they wanted to be stateless slaves or the independent people, the independent life guardsmen. And he said that it was what he wanted to stress and request to them.
The Panmunjom post aimed by enemy’s guns within the tens of meter-long range was a dangerous place where no one knows when he comes up against an unexpected combat action. However the Chairman carried out his field inspection to Panmunjom in order to inspire the People’s Army soldiers with awareness of being the independent life guardsman and give them his ardent love and trust.
It was a firm resolution which could be made by the peerlessly great man who intended to safeguard the red flag of socialism and bring about a final victory in the confrontation with imperialist reactionaries.
