It is situated in Wonsan City.
The university was established as the first agricultural university in the DPRK on September 1, Juche37 (1948).
The university has developed into a centre of training agricultural workers and is well-furnished with equipments for education and practical exercises today.
It has faculties of agriculture, agro-biology, agro-chemistry, farming machinery, agricultural management, fruit culture, animal husbandry and veterinary, sericulture, irrigation, etc and scores of courses, a postgraduate course, several research institutes, modern laboratories, a practice farm, a greenhouse and so on.
