The Tenth Day of Shining Star Cooking Contest was opened in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK on February 9 on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, the greatest auspicious day of the nation.
Cooking contest was aimed at substantially improving people`s diet by raising technical knowledge and skills of cooks and waitresses and inviting the better cooking way upholding the intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to develop the excellent dietary culture of the Korean nation.
Nutritious dishes retaining peculiar flavors and scents from materials and seasonings abundant in the DPRK showed well the developmental process of Korean diet culture.
