Sturgeons Out to the Sea

One day in June Juche 98 (2009), Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a fish farm which looked like a sea in a mountain.

He expressed great satisfaction at the proud reality in which the homemade satellite flies over the sky and fishes go out to the sea.

Feasting his eyes on the shoals of rare sturgeons swimming in the pond under the drooping branches of willow trees, he said it was his intention to ensure that the people lead the happiest life in the world and that they taste such a world-famous food as sturgeon dish.

He went on:

What a proud reality it is–the Korean people are catching up with the global standards, releasing sturgeons into the sea. Today, against all odds, we are well on way to attain the goal of a thriving nation. Looking back on the past of trying ordeals, I feel the pride in making revolution and harden my decision to work harder for the good of the people.

The accompanying officials were deeply moved to read his patriotic mind.

As President Kim Il Sung sang “Song of the Sea” as he was so pleased to see the daily-prospering life of the people, the Chairman pictured in his mind the future of the thriving country where the people’s dream would come true, and said:

Everything for the people–this is the fundamental principle in my activities and the aim of my life.
