On September 5 Juche 87(1998) the world was all ears for a radio broadcast from Pyongyang.
A few minutes later, there would be the First Session of the Tenth Supreme People`s Assembly of the DPRK. The whole world expected that at the election of a new state governing body, Kim Jong Il would be elected President of the DPRK.
Some foreign media organizations regarded this as a fait accompli and even prepared news articles in anticipation of it. But the news report from Pyongyang confounded their prediction.
“The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung was held in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK!”
At the news the world was struck with admiration for Chairman Kim Jong Il’s intense loyalty and noble moral obligation to Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea.
