International Friendship Exhibition House

The International Friendship Exhibition House is 1.5km up Hyangsan Stream from the Hyangsan Hotel.

It is a grand monumental edifice where there are on display gifts presented to President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il, anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk and supreme leader Kim Jong Un by heads of state and leaders of many countries and outstanding figures from the five continents.

Opened in August,Juche 67 (1978), the Korean-style house seems to be a wooden building with windows, though no timber was used and no window made. Light and humidity are regulated automatically.

Sustaining the national tradition, bells in the shape of a butterfly are hung from the eaves on each corner. They sound elegant when wind blows.

Its total floor space is 46 000 square metres. The six-storeyed exhibition house has a main building and other two buildings.
