The National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of the Democratic Republic of Congo posted on its website an article entitled “To build an education power, a power of talents” on August 29.
The article said:
Now the DPRK has launched a programme to build an education power, a power of talents under the wise leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is working hard to build a solid groundwork for the prosperity of the country.
He brightly illuminated the direction and ways to put the country’s education onto a new higher stage in line with the requirements of the knowledge economy era in the new century in Let Us Glorify Ours as the Country of Education and a Power of Talents by Bringing about a Revolution in Education in the New Century, On the Basic Tasks Facing Kim Il Sung University in the New Era of the Juche Revolution and other works.
He saw to it that the law on the enforcement of the universal 12-year compulsory education was proclaimed at the Sixth Session of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK and energetically led the work to rationally fix and steadily improve the secondary general education including educational conditions and environment in line with the specific conditions of the country and the world trend of its development.
Under his leadership the universal 12-year compulsory education has comprehensively been introduced into the country.
The higher education system has also been rearranged to train more talented personnel and distance education system of the leading universities upgraded, opening a broad avenue for making all people well-versed in science and technology.
The Korean people are determined to turn the DPRK into a power of talents upholding the leadership of the Supreme Leader who pays particular attention to boosting the country’s education with noble outlook on the coming generations and future.
