Instructions Given on Train

One hot summer day in August Juche 107 (2018), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set out on a trip for field guidance to Yangdok County, South Phyongan Province, with a plan to build a cultural resort where people can receive medical treatment and enjoy socialist civilization to their heart’s content.

As the train was running, maize fields were passing by.

Looking at the maize fields for a while, Kim Jong Un asked an official how much area was affected by high temperatures. And he stressed the need to take measures to remove the damage by high temperatures. Then he summoned a senior official of Yangdok County. He set the goal of per-hectare yield of maize to be attained and said that farming methods should be improved.

And he gave instructions as follows.

In order to increase the per-hectare yield of grains to the level required by the Party, all farms in our country must resolutely introduce scientific farming methods. Even when scientific farming methods are introduced, they should be done as suited to the characteristics of the area concerned.

There are many other stories telling how concerned he is about the farming in the country.

Once he stopped his train on his way for field guidance to learn about the state of farming. And the other time he counted the number of grains per rice ear in a flood-hit field.
