One November day in Juche 110 (2021), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Junghung Farm in Samjiyon City, Ryanggang Province.
The farm was newly built thanks to the devoted efforts of Kim Jong Un who visited Samjiyon City to turn it into an ideal mountain city and an ideal socialist village at the foot of Mt Paektu and energetically led the efforts to build it on a high level.
After asking the secretary of the Junghung-ri Party committee whether the farmers liked their new flats, he said with pleasure that the township village was wonderful and its construction was rewarding.
When an official of the farm told him that all the farmers turned out in the campaign to repay the benevolence of the country which provided them with new excellent flats with increased production of potatoes, Kim Jong Un said that Samjiyon City should be a model of rural development in potato farming, too.
He went on as follows: The model of rural development does not merely mean the development in the ideological consciousness and cultural life of agricultural workers. It cannot be said that a farm is a model of rural development simply because its farmers live in new houses. Only when they, as the masters of agricultural production and creators and enjoyers of cultural life, proved their preparedness and work before the times with a high degree of sci-tech knowledge and successes in production, and the farm becomes the model unit of the country, can it be called a model of rural development.
That day, he expressed his deep trust that the farm would lead others in the country in encouraging agricultural workers and carrying out the rural revolution.
