Manbokhwa is a flower named by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in person.
In March Juche 100(2011), Chairman Kim Jong Il visited Pyongyang Floriculture Institute newly built. When he was reported new kind of cymbidium was bred, he said that the names of new flowers should be made after bloomed.
His remark was the behest he left to the officials and researchers of the institute.
In spring next year the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un looked at cymbidium fully bloomed in the photo and named it “Manbokhwa” which means all blessings in Korean, while saying that it is really beautiful.
Today Manbokhwa is in full bloom sending fragrance across the country.
