One April day in Juche 93 (2004), Chairman Kim Jong Il oversaw the combat training of soldiers of a unit of the Korean People’s Army.
Guided by the commanding officers of the unit, he mounted the observation post to watch the drills conducted by its sub-units and expressed his satisfaction from beginning to end.
By the time when the drills reached their height, it began to rain suddenly.
Looking around the accompanying officials, the Chairman said: It begins to rain. Let us go out and watch the drills outside the observation post. How can we see the drills in the post as the soldiers are conducting their training in the cold rain? The Supreme Commander, too, should be exposed to rain when his soldiers conduct their drills in the cold rain.
Officials dissuaded him from leaving the post, but he went outside and oversaw their drills to the end in the cold rain.
