It happened in mid-August 2013 when the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Masikryong Ski Resort under construction.
Having seen log patterns being embossed with cement on the exterior walls of a few buildings, he said that they would then look like logs when viewed from a distance, but it could be easily found that they were not logs when seen from a short distance and that, in a word, they could be “beautiful from a distance”.
Officials burst out a slight laughing. He said that if they intended to do log dressing, they should make use of real logs and then the buildings would get well matched with the scenery of ski resort in mountainous areas and let them know the way of it one by one.
A few days before when he inspected the construction site of Mirim Riding Club he also advised that if they aimed to make buildings look as if being built with real logs constructing their walls with concrete mixtures, then the buildings could be seen as “beautiful from a distance”.
“Beautiful from a distance” implies his noble intention that there shouldn’t be any slightest defect in the work for our people.
Since then, the Masikryong Ski Resort was distinctively decorated with real logs in high quality antiseptic substances and thus all parts of the ski resort, which appeared as if it had come into the nature, arouse admiration from all the people. It has now been contributing to people’s well-being.
