He Gratified the Desire of a Youth

On February 7, 1948, the day before the regular revolutionary armed forces was founded, President Kim Il Sung was reported from the battalion commander of a unit a fact as follows:

One month before, a youth came to join the army with young peoples of his village, but did not pass beginning with physical examination as he was too young and short. However, he dangled after the unit stubbornly over a month.

The President called in him immediately and told him that in the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle the members of the Children’s Company fought well with guns on their shoulders, even though they were younger and shorter than him and that they used to cry as they found it hard to march, but when they encountered the enemy, they fought so terribly.

The President praised his strong willingness to join the army and instructed the battalion commander to accept him to the unit and take him wherever it went.

After all, the young man joined the Korean People’s Army on the day before the regular revolutionary armed forces was founded.
