Treasure Trove on West Sea

One August day in 2018, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory.

The factory, which was built on Nunggum Island in the waters off Kumsanpho in the West Sea of Korea in good harmony with the surrounding scenery, turns out various tasty and nutritious pickled fish products with tiny shrimp, anchovy, shellfish and other seafood.

In March 2015, Kim Jong Un came to the factory to give important instructions on its construction. During several other visits to the factory, he pointed to the need to improve the taste of pickled fish products and increase their kinds, to further develop the nation’s advantageous pickled fish culture by introducing advanced technology, and to lend an ear to the people’s evaluation and put efforts into conceiving ideas for the qualitative development of goods.

Taking a good look at the products that packed the storehouse while in his tour of the factory, he said with great satisfaction that it is a spectacular view and he felt proud to see the heaps of products although he was somewhat worried about the productivity of the factory as it was the first of its kind. He added that that he was full of pride at the thought of contributing to the betterment of the people’s diet even a bit.

Describing the factory as a treasure trove on the West Sea for improving the people’s dietary life, he repeatedly stressed that the officials and employees of the factory should work to raise the scientific and modern level of production so as to mass-produce different kinds of high-quality products with the spirit of selfless devotion to the people.
