On March 2, Juche 106(2017), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and planted trees with students.
He said that the schoolchildren who are growing to be successors and backbone elements of the revolution should duly take the lead in planting trees, too, adding that patriotism is not an abstract concept but a noble spirit of valuing even a tree of the country and devoting sweat and sincerity to cultivating it.
He said that the teachers should lead the students to devote their sincerity and enthusiasm to tree-planting with awareness that they should display their clean conscience and ardent patriotism before planting trees and with the will to take good care of woodland even if their bodies might serve as roots and fertilizer.
He went on: When the trees they planted and tended grow inch by inch, the students will also grow in their sense of patriotism. Only when they cherish warm love for the country from their childhood, can they become true patriots and genuine officials desired by the Party who willingly do a good job for the prosperity of the country at any post assigned to them by the Party in the future.
He taught the students in a way easy to understand, saying it is possible to ensure the rate of rooting when trees are planted in line with the scientific and technical requirements, and personally planted trees for a long while, digging a hole, watering and tamping.
The students, guided and encouraged by him, hastened their work.
Carefully looking at the planted trees one by one, he praised all of them for doing good work. He said they would recollect today, seeing the full-grown trees when they visit this place as adults. And he feasted his eyes on the school clad in thick verdure.
