One December day in Juche 104 (2015), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited a tree nursery of the Korean People’s Army.
Looking round several places of the nursery, he stressed: We should not slacken our campaign because no noticeable success is achieved in planting trees in a few years as the forest restoration campaign is a work of lasting significance and long-term one which calls for foreseeing ten years. We should plant and tend even a single tree with good care, thinking of the future when the mountains of the country will be thickly wooded, even if we have to work hard at the moment.
When the whole country is covered with trees and flowers, the rising generations will benefit a great deal from it. In the distant future, they will tell about the validity and correctness of the policy of our Party that set tree-planting as the important affair and strategic goal of the state, looking at thick forests.
He continued that he visited the nursery with a view to turning it into a model one in the 21st century which has been placed on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis as required by the age of knowledge-based economy and an icon and standard of the country’s tree nurseries.
He specified the issue of turning it into the land- and labour-saving nursery capable of producing tens of millions of saplings a year with a small production area and less labour by completely modernizing all the sapling production processes, and solved the problems to this end on the spot.
That day, he said he was very pleased to take charge of a job for the success of forest restoration, a patriotic undertaking of everlasting significance which we must do for the rising generations and that this is just the worth of life, pride and happiness.
