It was April 2 Juche 78 (1989) when the preparatory work to host the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students was being promoted dynamically in Pyongyang.
Chairman Kim Jong Il acquainted himself with the preparatory work and instructed in detail on celebrating the birthdays of foreign guests who were going to greet their birthdays during their presence at the festival.
Eventually, some 300 foreigners were given the birthday tables prepared according to the customs and tastes of their countries and native towns for the first time in the history of the World Festival of Youth and Students.
All of them were deeply impressed by the great loving care of the Chairman who embraced not only one country and one nation but also the whole world and entire people.
