There is the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK.
They were the first heroes of Korean revolution who had waged long bloody battles in order to take back the country from the Japanese imperialists. Many of them, however, ended their careers with no hero medals in their breasts.
Therefore, the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the Republic put up the gold-star hero medal on Jujak Hill of Mt. Taesong.
The Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong is a hill of immortality where the rising generation in the DPRK is meeting the heroes of the heroic epic, remembering the stories of the martyrs who opened a brilliant chapter of national liberation at the cost of their blood.
