There was a great sensation in the world in late October Juche 89 (2000) that Madeleine Albright, US secretary of state paid her visit to Pyongyang with 200 attendants.
In the first evening after her arrival, Chairman Kim Jong Il watched with her the grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance “Ever-Victorious Workers` Party of Korea” in celebration of the 55th founding anniversary of the Worker’s Party of Korea.
At that time Albright was wearing in her breast the Stars and Stripes brooch, symbolic of the “majesty” of the United States of America.
Next day the Chairman met her and gave his prompt and clear answers and conclusion to the DPRK-US relations and all other issues she was interested in.
Albright was moved to admiration, saying that he gave answers so freely that she was greatly enchanted.
So when she hosted the reception in honour of the Chairman, she wore a heart brooch, as a token of her feeling, which means her boundless respect and admiration for her dialogue partner.
When she arrived at the airport to leave Pyongyang, she had already worn a cowboy brooch in token of peace.
