Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, conferred “Paektusan” commemorative pistols on the leading commanding officers of the armed forces of the DPRK on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
A conferring ceremony was held in the office building of the WPK Central Committee on July 26.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un appeared at the venue of the ceremony.
All the participants made a salute of congratulations to the Supreme Leader who is ushering in the great heyday of building the revolutionary army of the Party with his gifted military wisdom, outstanding military idea, adroit strategy and seasoned art of command.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Marshal Pak Jong Chon of the Korean People’s Army, who is chief of the KPA General Staff, commanding officers of the services and corps-level units of the KPA, director of the Security Bureau of the KPA, minister of State Security, minister of Public Security, commander of the Guard Headquarters, director of the Guard Bureau, chief of the Guard Section, director of the Guard Department of the State Affairs Commission and other leading commanding officers of the armed forces at all levels, and members of the executive committee of the KPA Committee of the WPK.
Present there were also senior officials of the WPK Central Committee.
He said at the ceremony that he was going to confer on the leading commanding officers of the armed forces of the DPRK the “Paektusan” commemorative pistols which was newly developed and produced by the workers of the munitions industry in celebration of the great war victory day. This would be an expression of the Party’s great trust in and expectation of the commanding officers of the new generation who would carry forward to completion the revolutionary cause of Juche by firmly grasping the weapons of the revolution, he added.
He stressed the need for them to prepare themselves as genuine army revolutionaries with intense and truthful loyalty to the glorious Party and the State, those who are stronger in ideology and faith armed with the monolithic ideology of the Party and the steadfast revolutionary spirit and competent military activists well versed in the Juche-oriented military ideology, theory and tactics.
He personally conferred on them the significant pistols bearing his name as a token of his trust, expressing his conviction that they would remain unfailingly loyal to their mission they have assumed before the Party and the revolution, the country and the people and invariably travel the arduous road of the revolution to the end following the Party for the final victory of the cause of the Juche revolution.
The commanding officers who were greatly honored to receive the pistols from the Supreme Leader chanted in unison their pledge of loyalty to him and the WPK Central Committee, holding close to them the weapons of the revolution with which they would share the same destiny on the road of fierce decisive battles.
They made solemn pledges, looking up to the Party flag, to hold close to their hearts the pistols they have received from the Supreme Leader until the last moments of their lives, trust and follow Marshal Kim Jong Un only and fulfill their sacred mission of defending the leader, the country and the people to the end of the earth, whatever the storms, just as those fighters who went through the great anti-Japanese war and the anti-US war with the weapons of the revolution presented by President Kim Il Sung and the commanding officers in the Songun era who stood firm guard over the forefront for defending socialism by holding the pistols given by Chairman Kim Jong Il as the pillars of their faith and will.

The participants held high the pistols and made firm pledges to fight for Kim Jong Un at the cost of their lives. They also made a solemn oath to cherish the Party’s trust and expectation all the time, direct all their efforts to making the entire army an elite force and firmly support the great cause of the Party with perfect readiness for combat.
