Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, gave on-site guidance at the construction site of the Pyongyang General Hospital.
He was greeted on the spot by Pak Pong Ju and Pak Thae Song, vice-chairmen of the WPK Central Committee, Premier Kim Jae Ryong, and officials of the construction coordination commission.
Looking round the construction site, he said that the builders have done many things so far and pushed ahead with the project at remarkably rapid speed even under difficult circumstances, and highly appreciated them for their labour feats.
After being briefed on the details of overall situation by the construction coordination commission on the spot, he sternly pointed to serious problems in the work of economic organization for the project.
Noting that the construction coordination commission has not yet set up proper budget for the project and is organizing economic work in a careless manner, he severely rebuked it as it is making a serious digression from the Party’s policy in supplying equipment and materials against the intention of the Party which initiated and mapped out the construction for the people, and burdening the people by encouraging all kinds of “assistance”.
Saying that the construction coordination commission failed to solve all problems in line with the Party’s policy, he reproved that if such situation is left to go on, the ennobling plan and intention of the Party which initiated the glorious and worthwhile construction for the good of the people might be distorted and the image of the Party be tarnished.
He instructed the relevant departments of the Party Central Committee to investigate the performance of the construction coordination commission as a whole and replace all the officials responsible for its result and call them to task for their failure.
Though the project is making rapid progress thanks to the patriotic zeal and devoted efforts of the builders and working people in charge of supply of equipment and materials, he said, it is no more than the initial step and there are still a lot of things to do. He stressed the need for the construction coordination commission to keep pace with the Party Central Committee and properly conduct the work of specific organization and operation for carrying out the decisions made at the 14th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 7th WPK Central Committee.
