Rimyongsu Falls

This waterfall is located in Rimyongsu-dong in the city of Samjiyon, Ryanggang Province.

On average, it is 6m long and 4m wide. Many small waterfalls flow down between nine major ones. Forming fine sprays after hitting projected parts of the cliffs and then forming larger streams by merging one another, the water falls down into an artificial lake created by the Rimyongsu Barrage.

In harmony with the surrounding forests, the falls present beautiful scenery in all seasons. The scenery in winter is particularly spectacular.

As an unusual, mysterious waterfall formed by underground water, it is registered as a natural monument in January 1980 for its scenic significance.

There is a pavilion on the cliffs.
