Chairman Kim Jong Il”s Birthplace in Paektusan Secret Camp

The birthplace of Chairman Kim Jong Il is situated in the Sobaeksu Valley of Mt Paektu.

The Chairman was born in a log cabin in the forest of Paektu on February 16 Juche 31(1942) and grew up as the son of Mt Paektu while listening to the razing blizzards and gunshots of the anti-Japanese war.

The Jongil Peak standing in guard of his birthplace is 1 798 metres above sea level and it is the main peak in the area.

A constant stream of visitors flows to the Paektusan Secret Camp with profound reverence and yearning for the peerlessly great persons who devoted their all to the country`s prosperity, people’s well-being and accomplishment of the cause of global independence.
