The Arch of Triumph is located at the foot of Moral Hill in Pyongyang where President Kim Il Sung made a speech on his triumphant return to the country after leading the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory and achieving the historic cause of national liberation on August 15 1945.
The monument was built at the instance and under the guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il and inaugurated on April 14 Juche 71(1982) to hand down to posterity the noble exploits of the President who liberated the country.
