The historic inter-Korean summit hit the world headlines from September 19 to 26.
More than 200 media outlets including Russian news agency “Interfax” promptly reported with photos on the news that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un warmly greeted president Moon Jae In on a visit to Pyongyang, held summit talks and signed the September Pyongyang Joint Declaration.
The news was splashed in the world media including those of China, Nigeria, Germany, Cuba, Syria, India, Iran, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Egypt, Japan, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela, under such headlines as “Inter-Korean Summit Draws the Focus of World Attention” and “Inter-Korean Summit Climaxes with Mt Paektu Tour”.
They commented that Leader Kim Jong Un climbed Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, with president Moon Jae In after having the summit talks, and the Mt Paektu tour not only demonstrated once again the growing rapport between the north and south of Korea but also the excellent harmony between the two leaders.
