North-south talks of panel for cooperation in railway were held at the “house of peace” in the south side area of Panmunjom on June 26 according to the agreement of the inter-Korean high-level talks for the implementation of the historic Panmunjom Declaration.
Present at the talks were the northern delegation led by Kim Yun Hyok, vice-minister of Railways, and the southern delegation headed by Kim Jong Ryol, vice-minister of Land and Transportation.
At the talks both sides discussed the practical issues arising in reconnecting, updating and using the railways on the east and west coasts, and adopted a joint press release.
