Inter-Korean Red Cross Talks Held

Inter-Korean Red Cross talks for implementing the historic Panmunjom Declaration were held in Mt Kumgang on June 22.

Present there were the northern delegation led by Pak Yong Il, vice-chairman of the DPRK Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, and the southern delegation headed by Pak Kyong So, president of the “Korea National Red Cross”.

At the talks both sides agreed to have the reunion of separated families and their relatives from the north and the south in Mt Kumgang resort on the occasion of forthcoming August 15 (Korea’s liberation day) and discussed practical issues for the preparations of the reunion.

They also agreed to hold necessary Red Cross talks and working contacts in the future.

A joint press release was adopted and made public at the talks.
