One July day in 2018 the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid another visit to the Songmak Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm.
After looking round a fish pond he said in delight to the accompanying officials that the outdoor ponds were swarming with fish and that the freshwater salmons are tasty and they are more viable and grow faster than other species of salmons. Then he urged the officials to make sure that the salmons are widely grown to be sent to the Pyongyang Taedonggang Fish Restaurant so that the people could enjoy the dishes made with the fish.
Visiting various other places of the pedigree farm, he acquainted himself in detail with its management and operation and paid close attention to ensuring the taste of the fish on a high level.
Fish does not always taste good though it is big, he added, and it is important to grow fish after confirming the limit of their growth by kilogramme according to their species.
Feasting his eyes on the salmons in the fish ponds of indoor block No. 1, he noted that the Workers’ Party of Korea attaches importance to the farming of Atlantic salmon to make our people benefit from the widespread farming of the tasty fish.
Today the Korean people visit the Pyongyang Taedonggang Fish Restaurant, the Pyongyang Salmon Restaurant and other public catering facilities to spend a good time, enjoying various kinds of salmon dishes.
