One rainy day in August 2021, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Pothong Riverside Terraced Houses District in the capital city of Pyongyang.
Feasting his eyes on the panoramic view of the construction site, he said with satisfaction that the construction had progressed a lot.
Looking back, he had made strenuous efforts for the construction of the luxurious residential district. He had examined its formation plan and bird’s-eye views and more than 240 designs so that its construction could serve as an occasion to raise the country’s architecture onto a higher level.
While walking with officials along the road in front of the construction site, he pointed to the foot of a hill and referred to the need to landscape the area between the slope and buildings, decorate protective walls and put large and ornamental rocks so as to create a nice view.
When he dropped in at a flat, he took a look into the study and bedroom for the host and hostess and sat on the chair in front of the dressing table, saying that the interior of the flat was wonderful.
An official told him that it was really admirable, no inferior to a hotel suite. After hearing him with pleasure,
Kim Jong Un said: Now the Pothong Riverside Terraced Houses District has taken full shape; there was no such a modern residential district here before 140 days; as we have built a modern terraced houses district on a vacant lot for about 140 days, we should make every decision for the people’s wellbeing in a responsible manner, with an eye to 140 years ahead.
He thinks that when building something for the good of the people, every decision should be made in the most responsible way so that the structure can be handed down to posterity. Thanks to his ennobling idea, wonderful structures desired by the people are springing up on this land.
