The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un planted trees together with the participants in the Second Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the Workers’ Party of Korea on March 2, Tree-planting Day, last year on a hillock in the Hwasong area, where a new street was to be built.
He took the front part of one of the two poles regardless of the earth stuck to the two-armfuls of roots of a tree. When he reached the spot where the tree was to be planted, he broke ground first, saying a pit should be dug according to the size of the roots.
When the officials were hurrying to fill up the pit, he drew out one straw rope after another, covering the roots to make the roots strike deeper into the soil, shovelled the earth over the roots several times and trod down. In this way he planted two fir trees.
That day he said to the participants in the conference that as trees with firm roots can weather any storm, so a party that has taken its roots deep among the people and depends on them is invincible, stressing that secretaries of primary committees of the Workers’ Party of Korea should make redoubled efforts to turn the Party into a united group strong in its fighting efficiency with its roots deep in the working masses.
Tree planting of that day was a meaningful occasion that taught all secretaries of primary committees of the Party again where the invincible might of WPK, which advances in the face of hardships and trials, has struck its roots.
