Wreaths were laid at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri, and Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on September 9.
Senior Party and government officials and citizens in Pyongyang paid homage to the martyrs.
The ribbons of the wreaths read: “Glory to the revolutionary martyrs!” “Glory to the patriotic martyrs!” and “Glory to the martyrs of the heroic Korean People’s Army!”
The visitors observed a moment’s silence in honour of the martyrs who had dedicated their all to the country’s prosperity and people’s well-being following the cause of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.
That day, similar events were held in other parts of the country.
