One year in May, Chairman Kim Jong Il looked round the fountain park in front of the Mansudae Art Theatre located at the center of the capital.
As he overlooked a night view of the park presenting different colors from chandeliers and colored lanterns, he told officials that it was not likely to take picture at night under the present light. And he told again how delighted the citizens would be if we could offer brighter light for them to go out for pleasure and take pictures at night.
That day, saying that the park lighting should be made as bright as stadium`s floodlights, he reckoned in person the area of the park, the number and capacity of floodlight and even highlighted how to begin its construction till late at night. And then he left the park.
Thanks to his tenderly paternal care, the fountain park in front of the Mansudae Art Theatre was developed into a resting place which helps people take pleasure from the bright and beautiful night scene.
