Great Commander

The 68th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War was significantly celebrated in the DPRK.

When the war was broken in Korea on June 1950, the peace-loving people of the world was scared that the young DPRK might be powerless against the United States who boasted of being “the strongest” in the world, as five years had passed since it was liberated from Japanese colonial rule and two years since it founded its state and army.

However, the Korean people created the miracle of achieving the victory in the three year long war against their expectation.

Regarding this, Francisco Da Costa Gomez, the ex-chief of staff of Portuguese Army stationed at Macao expressed his admiration, saying:

“The then operation plan made by the United States was the plan set as a result of several discussions by dozens of generals, the chiefs of staff and military specialists of western countries on the side of the United States. However, President Kim Il Sung defeated it alone.

“I saw it with my own eyes and came to realize that President Kim Il Sung was really the gifted military strategist and great commander.”

The historical victory in the Fatherland Liberation War vividly proved the truth that the country and people led by the great leader is ever victorious.
