He was greeted on the spot by Premier Kim Jae Ryong, Minister Jang Kil Ryong of Chemical Industry and officials of the factory construction headquarters.
Being briefed on the master plan for the project and sci-tech problems, the Supreme Leader learned in detail about its construction process.
Making the rounds of the seething construction site, he said he feels more reassured to witness our reliable scientists, technicians and workers displaying the revolutionary fighting spirit to carry out such a difficult and challenging project as breaking a new ground in the development of the country’s chemical industry by their own efforts and technology, bearing in mind the Party’s idea of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance that creation and construction should be conducted our own way and by our own efforts. He reiterated the important significance of the construction of the factory.
He expressed great satisfaction at the fact that officials and builders of all units seconded to the project are working hard in the van of the offensive for making a breakthrough head-on, true to the Party’s grand plan and intention for building an economic giant. He praised their labour feats, noting that he extends his grateful thanks to them and hopes it will be the first front to make a breakthrough and put up the flag of victory this year when the Party set forth a great idea of making a breakthrough head-on and the news of their struggle will give unlimited strength and encouragement to all the places across the country working for bringing about a great upsurge.
To push ahead with such a weighty task as establishing a modern industry capable of mass-producing high-concentration ammonium phosphate fertilizer by our own efforts, technology and manpower from A to Z is a good attempt which fully conforms to the Party’s idea and intention of launching the offensive for making a breakthrough head-on and we should continue to score excellent results by dint of such a struggle based on the spirit of self-reliance, he said.
Stressing the need to set it as the intentional goal to automate all the elements and processes of a modern phosphatic fertilizer factory under construction and turn it into a labour-saving industry, he said that close attention should always be paid to guaranteeing the reliability of automatic control system and the security of production lines, building up technical forces of the factory and training producers with a high level of technical knowledge and skills.
Noting that an adequate supply of raw materials presents itself as the most important issue to normalize production of the factory, he said that it is necessary to make scrupulous arrangements for economic planning and guidance and control for rapidly restoring apatite mines to their original state in accordance with the policy ratified by the Party and promote them vigorously, taking them into good account one by one.
He underlined the need to scientifically examine the issues that might have an impact on the surrounding ecological environment during the construction and operation of the factory and take measures for scientific solution.
He inspected the construction site as the first leg of his field guidance trip for this year with a view to stressing once again that the construction of the factory is one of the projects to which the Party is attaching the greatest importance among the economic tasks to be carried out in 2020, the first year of the offensive for making a breakthrough head-on, he said, adding that the Party will take an immediate step for the supply of funds arising in the project and give persistent boost to it. He showed great trust in the Cabinet and the ministries of chemical and mining industries, giving an honourable task for them to dynamically push forward the project with the attitude and viewpoint as befitting masters.
He said it is natural that a flag flutters in the wind and the fiercer the adverse wind raised by the hostile forces gets, the fiercer our red flag will fly in high spirits. He stressed, full of confidence, that the situation is acute and difficulties crop up in our way, but our ideals and aspiration will surely come true by our own efforts when we cherish the validity of our cause as the faith, believe in our own strength and give ceasless play to a high sense of responsibility, devotion and activeness.
Noting that it is imperative to complete as soon as possible the construction of the factory and the restoration of apatite mines and normalize production of high-concentration ammonium phosphate fertilizer, he expressed his expectation and conviction that all the builders, scientists, technicians and workers would strive hard as befits fighters in the van of the grand offensive for making a breakthrough head-on with ardent patriotism that they, too, bear the responsibility for the agricultural front, the front line for defending socialism.
