The first ceremony to commend the model workers was magnificently held on May Day celebrated for the first time since national liberation.
This first commendation ceremony, too, is marked with the careful loving care of President Kim Il Sung who had taken care of our workers.
It was one day in April 1946.
On that day, the President called officials and told them to select the model units and individual workers in the labor hero movement on a nationwide scale for high commendation to be likely given on May Day.
And then, he said that the ceremony would be a significant meeting where to commend the working people for the first time in our country which had a long history of five thousand years.
As a result, the first commendation ceremony was held and it put more spurs into the creation and construction work of our workers firmly united.
