Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex developed the iron production system relied on our own strength, technology, materials and fuels by 100 percent and set itself completely free from the yoke of cokes. In the previous 2023, it erected the more updated energy-saving furnace of oxygen thermal process. In December 2024, Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, too, erected the Korean-style energy-saving furnace of oxygen thermal process, thereby augmenting the more powerful strength of the self-reliant economy.
As a result, the iron industry of the DPRK went up to the steadfast stage of Juche-orientation and the self-reliant foundation of the economic development of the state became more consolidated.
