One November day in Juche 110 (2021), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave on- site guidance at the construction site of Samjiyon City in the northern mountainous area of the country.
While learning in detail about the project, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that new dwelling houses and public establishments were built to suit the features of a gorge area and that single- and low-storied buildings were arranged according to the topographical features to be in good harmony with surrounding environment and that the locals would like it.
Stressing the need not to rest content with having spruced up Samjiyon City, he stated that the project was just the first stage and beginning of implementing the Party’s strategic plan to simultaneously develop 200-odd cities and counties across the country, and that we should facelift the whole country by consolidating and generalizing the successes and experience gained in the renovation of Samjiyon City.
Noting that all cities and counties should be renovated simultaneously to be on a par with Samjiyon City, he gave important instructions as follows:
It is necessary to direct efforts to properly setting priorities in the project and strengthening construction force. Cities and counties should build up their own construction force. The state should take organizational and institutional measures to this end. Designs should be done to reflect our Party’s vision of thinking 50 or 100 years ahead, our Party’s idea and our people’s sentiments and to be flawless even in the distant future.
The era of regional changes is being ushered in on this land under the leadership of Kim Jong Un who has unveiled a grand plan to turn all cities and counties into ideal socialist villages with the regional construction that started in Samjiyon City as a momentum.
