One spring day Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the then park of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren`s Palace to plant a commemorative tree.
Officials had already dug out a hole, put in a tree seedling and collected soft soil in heaps.
At the sight of it, the Chairman admonished them that one could feel worth work and regards it meaningful only when he digs out a hole and plants a tree on his own.
After a moment, he continued saying that when he planted trees at the Rungna Islet with President Kim Il Sung in the other day, he dag out holes and planted tree seedlings by carrying them with the aid of poles. Then he taught them every method of tree planting.
That day the officials perceived that patriotism comes out from planting and raising even a single tree on their own with great care.
