Clear Brook Water

There is a valley called Piam in Kangwon Province of the DPRK.

One day in November Juche 95(2006), Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a livestock farm there.

As he looked round different places of the farm to give important instructions on upgrading it, he happened to see the turbid water of a brook flowing through the farm.

Upon hearing that the water in the surrounding area was polluted due to a branch mine situated in the upper reaches of the brook, the Chairman pointed to the need to take a measure to solve the problem of water needed for managing and operating the farm and told officials to immediately stop the operation of the mine.

His words greatly impacted on the officials as they had thought it was natural for the mine to make brook water turbid, only taking into account the important share it took in the economic development of the country.

Thanks to the burning love of the Chairman for the people, the brook water became clear again.
