The 22nd Kimjongilia Festival in Pyongyang was one of the highlights of the celebrations of the Day of the Shining Star, a greatest national holiday of the country.
The ardent trust and profound reverence the Korean people and the world’s progressives for Chairman Kim Jong Il, who had performed immortal feats along with the era of independence, were expressed more than ever before in the recent flower festival in praise of the great man as it coincided with the 30th anniversary of the naming of the immortal flower Kimjongilia.
Over 800 Kimjongilias were presented to the first festival.
The festival grew in scale year after year and in the recent festival were exhibited tens of thousands to form a flower garden, adding to the holiday atmosphere.
