The Ryuwon Footwear Factory on the banks of the Pothong River in Pyongyang underwent renovation to be a modern industrial establishment with a larger production capacity.
On his visit to the renovated factory on October 18 Juche 106(2017), Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un referred to the need for the factory to turn out footwear that is favoured by the people and that can compare favourably anywhere as befits a model factory in the country’s shoe industry. And he described the factory as another asset created in the efforts to improve the people’s livelihood and a monumental structure in the era of the Workers’ Party.
The factory associated with the leadership exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il and warm love of the Supreme Leader annually produces well over a million pairs of various trainers and sneakers for athletes of different sports to contribute to improving the people’s cultured and leisure activities.
