A massive military and civilian parade with Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in attendance took place with splendor in Pyongyang on April 15, Juche 106(2017), to celebrate the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
The bugle call signaled the start of the event, and 21 guns were shot in salute amid the solemn playing of “Song of General Kim Il Sung” and “Song of General Kim Jong Il.”
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers” Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, made a congratulatory speech. Then the military parade kicked off.
Columns of troops goose-stepped past the square rostrum demonstrating their firm faith to become human walls and shields defending the Supreme Leader, banner of victory and glory of socialist Korea and symbol of its strength.
As a good show of the country’s military capability, formations of artillery pieces, missiles and its most advanced nuclear weapons and equipment – miniaturized, lightened and diversified – rolled down the parade route, making the spectators full of gratitude to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who had left behind a powerful self-defensive capability.
