On May 14 this year, a few days after the highest-level emergency anti-epidemic system was put in place, a consultative meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held in the presence of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the WPK. It was the second major meeting of the WPK Central Committee since the harsh disaster swept across the country.
At the meeting, he pointed out in detail various problems arising in conducting the emergency anti-epidemic work.
Noting that he had brought all the officinal medicines he had kept at his home, Kim Jong Un added that he would donate a carton of the medicines to the Party committee of the headquarters of the WPK Central Committee, asking it to send them to needy families.
His voice was quiet, but all those attending the meeting were deeply impressed to hear him.
The news that the medicines were conveyed to the families of ordinary workers in the City of Haeju, South Hwanghae Province, moved all the Korean people to tears.
