Stenographer of 26 Years Ago

It happened on September 11 Juche 79(1990) when President Kim Il Sung visited China.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China arranged a grand banquet in welcome of his China visit.

Looking round the officials of the Chinese side sitting at the same table with him, the President cast his eyes upon an official and told the general secretary that the man was familiar with him.

Tracing back in memory, the President said he had been a stenographer. Then the Chinese Party leader said that he did not seem to have been a stenographer.

The President called the official and asked him whether he had participated as a stenographer in the talks held between him and Mao Zedong.

The official replied he did so, perplexed.

Recalling that it might be 1964, he said the man who had once been a stenographer now became a cadre.  At the moment all those present in the banquet was filled with admiration.
