The north-south joint liaison office was opened in the Kaesong Industrial Zone under the agreement at inter-Korean high-level talks for implementing the historic Panmunjom Declaration.
Its opening ceremony took place on September 14.
Present there were Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the DPRK who is the head of the DPRK side’s delegation to the north-south high-level talks, and officials concerned, and Jo Myong Gyun, minister of Unification who is the chief delegate of the south side to the talks, and those concerned.
A congratulatory speech and a commemorative speech were made and the tablet of the north-south joint liaison office was unveiled.
The head of the north side and the chief delegate of the south side signed the “agreement on formation and operation of the north-south joint liaison office”.
