Looking like a boat floating on the picturesque Taedong River, the Pyongyang Taedonggang Fish Restaurant covers a total area of 24 000 m² and it can accommodate up to 1 200 guests.
On the 1st floor are an angling site and ponds teeming with sturgeons, salmons, rainbow trout, carps and other species, shellfish, and terrapins. On the 2nd floor are public dining hall, family dining room, rooms for Korean traditional dishes, sushi rooms and several other halls of various designs, as well as the stands where processed fish products are sold. On the 3rd floor they serve delicious and nutritious dishes prepared with live fishes, and their processed products.
Since its inauguration on July 30 this year the restaurant has attracted a large number of Pyongyang citizens and foreigners. Visitors are pleased to see the fishes swimming in the ponds, or they come out on the balcony to enjoy the scenery of the Rungna People’s Recreation Ground, Moran Hill, May Day Stadium and other sights in and around the river.
